Rev. Al Sharpton was questioned about his motives by some activists when he arrived in Baltimore to preach at the Douglas Memorial Community Church on Sunday, the Washington Free Beacon reports.
"They come to exploit tragedies and collect money," Duane G. Davis said about Sharpton in a video he streamed on Facebook Live ahead of Sharpton's arrival at the church. "How much money he going to get paid to speak here?"
Davis mostly videotaped the encounter. Another unidentified man questioned Sharpton on topics ranging from race and mass incarceration to gun violence, and asked him what he's doing to help young black men.
The man also asked about Freddie Gray, the 25-year-old black man killed by police in Baltimore in 2015, to which Sharpton replied, "What did I do with Freddie Gray? What are you talking about? I didn't deal with that, y'all did."
"Exactly, that's the problem, Al," the man responded.
"That is your problem," Sharpton said.
Davis ribbed Sharpton on shaking President-elect Donald Trump's hands to which Sharpton responded, "I didn’t shake hands with Donald Trump … Donald Trump came to a Mike Tyson fight in '86."
