Alec Baldwin posted an Instagram photo Saturday, attempting to mock Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" hats in Russian, but Fox News contributor Julie Roginsky tweeted Sunday the joke did not land on Trump.

The hat mistranslated to Russian – an attempted shot at Trump's forgiving, if not highbrowed, approach to controversial Russian President Vladimir Putin – actually reads: "Make America Groovy Again."

Roginsky, a Democrat strategist and TV commentator, speaks native Russian, having spent several years of her childhood in Moscow, according to Mediaite.

The "Saturday Night Live" comedian's Russian hat was grammatically flawed, but, perhaps more ironically, blew the translation.
