A trip President Barack Obama made in 2013 that included a visit to Florida for a round of golf with Tiger Woods cost taxpayers $3.6 million, according to a new report.

The Daily Caller cites figures from the Government Accountability Office that show the president and his entourage incurred a significant bill during the Feb. 15 to 18 trip three-and-a-half years ago.

The trip involved a quick visit to Chicago on Feb. 15 for a speech before Obama traveled for a mini vacation in Palm Beach, Fla. He and Woods had met before but had never played golf together.

Obama's visit to Florida included an eight-hour session with golf instructor Butch Harmon — 27 holes of golf and hitting balls in Harmon's instruction studio, the Associated Press reported at the time.

The $3.6 million tab, according to The Daily Caller, does not include the salaries of military and civilian workers who accompany the president wherever he goes. Some classified expenses were also not included in the total.

Obama was in southern California this week and played golf at the famous Torrey Pines course in San Diego.
