Vice President Joe Biden and his family are spending Thanksgiving overseas at a cost to taxpayers of $307,118,

Biden, along with his wife, Jill, and other relatives is staying in Rome following a stop for meetings in Zagreb, Croatia.
Government contracts detail the cost of various aspects of the trip:
- Hotel rooms in Rome: $208,582
- "Ambulance support" in Rome: $7,676
- Car service in Croatia: $23,997
- Atlas vehicle rental in Croatia: $24,541
- Taxi service in Croatia: $21,453
- Four more vehicle rentals in Croatia: $7,849, $862, $5,014, and $7,144.
While in Rome, Biden is set to meet with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and Archbishop Paul Gallagher, the secretary for relations with states of the Holy See.
