A former NBC employee is claiming he helped comedian Bill Cosby regularly link up with women during their time working together, according to
NBC News.
Cosby, who has been facing a series of rape and sexual assault allegations over the last few months, reportedly sent money to several women on a regular basis, said Frank Scotti, who used to work with Cosby at NBC Entertainment.
"I felt like a pimp,'' Scotti, age 90, told Kate Snow in an interview that aired on NBC's "TODAY" show on Monday. "Every time he had somebody I had to watch, I had the girl stay there. I felt dirty."
Scotti also said he had to stand guard while Cosby was alone with various women and said that the money he sent to them was sometimes thousands of dollars a month.
He said he decided to come forward to speak out in their defense.
"I just felt, you know, he's not the person I thought he was," Scotti said.
Cosby's attorney, Martin Singer, denied the claims.
"It appears that his story is pure speculation so that he can get his 15 minutes of fame," Singer told NBC News.
Eighteen women have now publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault or attempted assault, NBC News reported. He has always denied the allegations.
"It is completely illogical that so many people would have said nothing, done nothing, and made no reports to law enforcement," a spokesman for Cosby said, according to NBC News.
Cosby on Saturday explained his silence to
Florida Today.
"I know people are tired of me not saying anything, but a guy doesn't have to answer to innuendos," he said after receiving a standing ovation at a comedy show that evening.
"People should fact-check."
