African Americans and U.S. women do not have confidence in the COVID-19 vaccines, a new survey showed.
TechnoMetrica Institute of Policy and Politics released survey results that said only 38% of African Americans and 40% of American women expressed confidence in the coronavirus vaccines.
Other demographics showed at least a 53% confidence in the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. They included men (67%), whites (55%), Hispanics (55%) and the overall U.S. population (53%).
Women and African Americans survey results were similar when asked if they trusted vaccines in general terms. Only 36% of African Americans and 46% of American woman indicated they trusted inoculations.
Based on those results, it was not surprising both groups indicated a reluctance to getting vaccinated when the drugs become available. Only 35% of African Americans and 43% of women were willing to get vaccinated. That compared to 62% of men, 55% of whites and 55% of Hispanics who displayed a willingness to receive the vaccine.
The survey concluded that institutions such as hospitals, pharmaceuticals, insurance companies, and the government must aggressively develop programs to educate African Americans and women about vaccine safety to combat COVID effectively.
The Investor's Business Daily/TIPP Poll was conducted online from Dec. 1-3 using a sample of 1,209 Americans, 18 or older. The study claims to be accurate to within plus or minus 3.2 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
