With his 2016 presidential aspirations dashed, and a Trump administration Cabinet post apparently not in play, there's speculation New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie may be looking for a new career as a sports talk radio host.

The governor, who has frequently appeared on the "Boomer & Carton" show on WFAN and the CBS Sports Network, was back on the air Tuesday morning subbing for Boomer Esiason.

The sharp-tongued Republican governor, an avid Dallas Cowboys football fan, took a swipe at New York Giants coach Ben McAdoo while talking about the team's Sunday night win against the NFC East-leading Cowboys.

"So do you think Ben McAdoo will actually get a real haircut if they make the playoffs?" Christie joked with co-host Craig Carton, calling McAddo's mustache "cheesy."

According to the New York Post, McAdoo brought up the insult in private to his team.

"He just walked in with a shirt that said, 'Benny With The Good Hair.' It had a picture of his face on it with good hair,” an unnamed Giants player told the Post, quoting him saying: "This is what I think of it."

Steve Politi of NJ Advance Media speculated the next job for Christie may well be in the WFAN studio, "the one consistent place where you actually can find Christie these days."

"This is just a guess, based on what I know about Christie and his clear affinity for the spotlight and for sports," Politi wrote. "But it sure seems like he's auditioning for a job at WFAN, and maybe for . . .  replacing the soon to retire Mike Francesa.
