Best-selling author Jerome Corsi told Newsmax in an exclusive interview Friday night he feels “absolutely relieved” and “vindicated” that the Mueller investigation has ended without prosecutors bringing an indictment against him.

“That’s it,” a clearly relieved Corsi told Newsmax. “I’ve been vindicated, there won’t be any more indictments, it’s over.”

Corsi, author of “Killing the Deep State: The Fight to Save President Trump,” said he had been “inundated” with calls since the news broke late Friday afternoon that special investigator Robert Mueller had submitted his findings and would not bring further indictments.

Corsi has been in the Mueller team’s crosshairs since November, when he revealed he had rejected a plea deal that would have required him to state he had lied and obstructed justice.

At the time, Corsi told Newsmax he had not committed those crimes, and his religious faith would not allow him to plead guilty to something he did not do. He also told Newsmax he expected an imminent indictment.

On Friday night, Corsi said, “No American should have to go through this. I cooperated fully, I told the truth, and they tried to get me to accept a plea deal to a crime I didn’t commit. That’s why I wrote my book ‘Silent No More.’”

One of the lingering mysteries of the Mueller probe: Why did prosecutors try to persuade Corsi to admit guilt in a plea deal, but did not bring a subsequent indictment?
