ESPN has suspended Curt Schilling after the network analyst and former pitcher tweeted, and subsequently deleted, a picture that compared Muslims to Nazis.
"Curt's tweet was completely unacceptable, and in no way represents our company's perspective," ESPN said in a statement on Tuesday. "We made that point very strongly to Curt and have removed him from his current Little League assignment pending further consideration."
Tuesday morning, Schilling posted a photo on Twitter reading, "It's said only 5-10% of Muslims are extremists. In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis. How'd that go?"
"The math is staggering when you get to true #'s," added Schilling.
In addition to his Little League World Series gig, Schilling also had a spot in the booth for "Sunday Night Baseball."
After backlash started to come in for the tweet, Schilling did apologize to several who criticized him, calling the post a "dumb decision."

It's not the first time Schilling has found himself in hot water for his social media posts. The World Series-winning former Red Sox player has generated criticism for posting pro-confederacy photos and other controversial statements on his Facebook and Twitter. He also previously claimed that being a Republican cost him a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Schilling made his debut as an analyst on ESPN in 2010, and joined "Sunday Night Baseball" in 2014.
