A vocal opponent biannual time changes, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.,  hopes Sunday morning is the last time the U.S. government forces Americans to readjust clocks one hour.

Rubio tweeted Saturday:

"#SaturdayThoughts Tonight the federal government will force us to move the clock forward one hour. There is no legitimate reason to keep doing this. It’s time to #LockTheClock"

The tweet included a video of Rubio pleading to make daylight saving time permanent.

"So, guess what, March 8 we've got to spring our clock forward again, and I hope it's the last time we have to do it," Rubio said in the video. "I hope we pass our bill to make daylight saving time permanent, so we can stop the silly practice of changing our clocks back and forth twice a year.

"Let this time be the last time. Let's get this bill done."

President Donald Trump has expressed approval of the making daylight saving time permanent. Experts say the time change increases the risk of heart attacks.
