Democrats pounced on the Congressional Budget Office's new score for the House-passed GOP health care bill, intensifying criticism of "Trumpcare" for delivering "higher costs and less care."

According to the report, 23 million would lose health insurance under the House plan.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said President Donald Trump "should read this report cover to cover."

"Trumpcare means higher costs and less care for the American people," he said."For the good of the country, Republicans in the senate should reject this path and work with Democrats to fix our health care system instead of pulling the plug on it."

Vermont Independent Sen. Bernie Sanders fumed: "What a disgrace" in a tweet posted minutes after the CBO announced the healthcare bill would leave 23 million more Americans uninsured.

Democrats have hammered Republicans over the American Health Care Act, and the Wednesday report only fanned the flames.

"I don't see what's conservative about screwing the working poor," Hawaii's Sen. Brian Schatz tweeted.

Texas Democratic Rep. Joaquin Castro called the AHCA "completely irresponsible," and Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. Bob Casey said the CBO report on the GOP plan was nothing less than "scathing."

Former Clinton spokesman, Josh Schwerin, added women's services would be especially hard-hit under the Republican plan.

Virginia Rep. Tom Perriello tweeted the CBO "confirmed" that the GOP and President Donald Trump are "trying to crush health care for 23 million Americans—including untold numbers of Virginians."

Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts weighed in that the GOP plan was "disgraceful."

Virginia Sen. Mark Warner suggested the GOP bill get tossed "in the trash."
