President Donald Trump late Wednesday lauded the White House as "one of the most beautiful buildings [homes] I have ever seen" and bashed a "fake news" report he had called it a "real dump."

In a profile in Golf.com published Tuesday, Sports Illustrated senior writer Alan Shipnuck reported Trump told members he has visited many of his resorts on weekends because "that White House is a real dump."
"A White House spokesperson denies this occurred," Shipnuck reported, noting "Trump is often at his most unguarded among the people who pay for their proximity to him."
The remark prompted widespread attacks — and even Chelsea Clinton tweeted her support for White House staffers "for all you do every day."
