Fox News Poll: Trump Continues to Soar, Followed by Carson and Cruz

Sunday, 16 August 2015 12:40 PM EDT ET

Billionaire developer Donald Trump is still holding his own in a new Fox News poll, while establishment candidates Jeb Bush, Scott Walker and Marco Rubio are all losing traction.

Trump is continuing to dominate with 25 percent support nationally, while retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is running second at 12 percent. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, known for locking horns with Republican congressional leaders, is third at 10 percent. Those findings mirror recent polls in Iowa and elsewhere.

Bush has 9 percent for a fourth-place finish, dropping from 15 percent and second place in a Fox News poll conducted earlier this month, before the first GOP presidential debate.

Walker, the Wisconsin governor, meanwhile, is tied for fifth, at 6 percent — down from 9 percent earlier this month.

In the new Fox News poll, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee  is tied with Walker for fifth at 6 percent. They're followed by former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina at 5 percent, Ohio Gov. John Kasich  and Sen. Marco Rubio at 4 percent, and then New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who both have 3 percent support.

The poll was conducted Aug. 11-13. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
