President Donald Trump has been clear that he wants people in his administration "who want to forward his agenda," White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said Monday, adding that while he hasn't seen reported lists of "disloyal" people to be replaced, "appropriate action" will be taken against people working against the president.

"Donald Trump was the only one elected. He was the only one the American people voted for," Gidley told Fox News' "America's Newsroom." "They didn't vote for somebody at any of these other agencies, these other departments."

Sunday, Axios reported that the president's allies have been compiling lists of government officials who are considered disloyal since 2018, along with pro-Trump figures to replace the ousted officials.

"It's not a secret we want people in positions that work with this president and not against them," Gidley said. "The federal government is massive with millions of people and there are a lot of people out there working against is present. If we find them we will take appropriate action."

Every president has the right to have people in positions that "forward and execute" an agenda, even Trump, said Gidley.

"They are pushing their own political agenda and on the agenda of the duly elected president," he said. "The fact is we know there are people actively working against this president...we got to see, for example, the famous text messages from (ex-FBI attorney) Lisa Page and (ex-FBI agent) Peter Strzok working actively against him. That shouldn't happen...we will continue to move forward to make sure people are in positions that support this president's agenda."
