President Donald Trump's travel spending has put him on pace to lay out more in his first year in office than former President Barack Obama spent on travel for his eight year stint, CNN reported.

In his first 80 days in the White House, Trump's six weekend trips to his private club in Florida have cost around $21.6 million, the news outlet reported.

Obama spent close to $97 million on travel during his presidency, conservative government watchdog Judicial Watch has found.

Trump was an outspoken critic of Obama's travel, slamming his predecessor on Twitter for his holiday trips home to Hawaii – and golfing.
