Eddie Calvo, the governor of the U.S. territory of Guam, praised President Donald Trump's remarks about taking on North Korea.

"As far as I'm concerned, as an American citizen, I want a president that says that if any nation such as North Korea attacks Guam . . . that they will be met with hell and fury," Calvo said Wednesday on Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

"There is a concern and worry, but there is no panic," Calvo said, noting North Korea has issued threats against Guam and other areas in the region before.

"We encourage everyone to go through their lives and live them like you would do any other day," he said.

The governor expressed concern over Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., saying Wednesday any war with North Korea would be fought in the region, "not here in America."

"This is American sovereign soil . . . there are over 200,000 American citizens," Calvo said. "So, it's important that, as we make decisions, that those folks that are in a position of leadership that they understand that war is the last option."

Rep. Madelien Bordallo, Guam's representative to Congress, said Guam is taking North Korea’s threats seriously because the country has been "living with this for the last few years."
