Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., defeated Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif. in the race for Democratic Caucus chair.
The Hill reported the vote was 123-113 in favor of Jeffries over Lee. The race pitted two members of the Congressional Black Caucus against one another.
The post opened up after Rep. Joe Crowley, D-N.Y. was defeated by Rep.-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., in the Democratic primary this year.
