The Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee said Tuesday he does not expect a quick end to his panel's probe into Russian election interference.

Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, who has headed the committee's probe since Chairman Devin Nunes stepped away earlier this year, was asked by CNN's Manu Raju if he saw the probe ending and a report being issued by year's end.

"No," Conaway replied. "That would be a surprise."

Conaway's committee is just one of three congressional investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election. Special counsel Robert Mueller is heading up a fourth probe.
