President Donald Trump has followed through on the $1 million he promised in hurricane relief aid to help Texas and Louisiana following Hurricane Harvey, the Washington Examiner reported Saturday.

Trump sent 12 checks to organizations to help with recovery efforts from last month's storm, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told the newspaper.

The Salvation Army and the American Red Cross each received $300,000 and Christian relief organizations Reach Out America and Samaritan's Purse received $100,000 each.

Eight other groups — ASPCA, Catholic Charities, Direct Relief, Habitat for Humanity, the Houston Humane Society, Operation Blessing, Portlight Inclusive Disaster Strategies and Team Rubicon — received $25,000 each.

Many of the organizations confirmed they had received the donations.
