The English-language Twitter account believed to belong to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has praised the arrest of 10 U.S. sailors in the Persian Gulf earlier this month — calling it "God's deed" and dubbing the Navy personnel "trespassing Marines."

The account also includes posts of the ayatollah meeting with members of the Iranian National Guard who captured the Americans on Jan. 13:
The Twitter posts follow those on Jan. 22 on Instagram featuring an image of a Persian-language Hezbollah newspaper cover showing a similar picture of the arrest,
The Military Times reports.
The sailors, nine men and one woman, were captured near Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf. They were released 16 hours later — and Iran posted video of one of the Navy members apologizing for the apparent mishap.
The ayatollah's English-language Twitter account has slightly less than 184,000 followers, the Times reports, while the Instagram account has about 601,000 followers.
