At least 45 Islamic State (ISIS) jihadists have died from a poisoned meal after breaking their Ramadan fast, among the 145 people who sat for the "iftar" meal in Mosul, Iraq,

A spokesman for the Kurdish Democratic Party said it is unclear whether they were deliberately poisoned or whether they suffered from food poisoning, the Mail said.
The newspaper said that it was not the first time that ISIS militants have been targeted by poisoned food. In November, a number of ISIS fighters allegedly died in a similar situation when the free Syrian Army rebel group infiltrated their camp posing as chefs. Sources claimed that at least 10 ISIS fighters died after eating the contaminated lunch.
The accuracy of the reports, which originated in the now-defunct Times of Iraq, however, have been questioned, the Mail said.
Controversial images have emerged during Ramadan showing ISIS extremists convening for meals, while undercover footage from the group in Raqqa, Syria, revealed hundreds of young boys and women lining up for food and water.
The footage was shared by anti-ISIS activists as "Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently" with the caption, "the second day of Ramadan," a time when Muslims do not eat or drink between sunrise and sunset.
Other images show ISIS soldiers sitting down to lavish meals of fried fish, pickles, green salad, white rice, with silver platters full of fresh fruit and shining cutlery wrapped in napkins, the Mail reported.
