Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio has lashed out at the Obama administration for dumping illegal immigrants, many of them unaccompanied minors, on his doorstep.
He
told The Washington Times that it was a personal "affront" to him that undocumented aliens rounded up in south Texas had been dropped off in his Maricopa County.

Arpaio says he's "like a poster boy" for attacking the Justice Department and the White House on immigration policy, and he believes that dumping border cheats on his turf was retaliation.
"The White House is incompetent and the dumping of illegals is intentional," he said, adding, "I can't imagine them doing this without realizing that there was going to be controversy."

Arpaio, 82, told the Times' Rusty Humphries he's afraid that some of the thousands of illegal immigrants pouring into the U.S. every week are gang members or working for drug cartels, even if they look like innocent children.
"I don't think they're all young kids," he said "I would bet there are 16-, 17-year-olds. How do we know they're not members of a gang coming across?"
Arpaio pointed out that that criminals from Mexico and Central America keep crossing the border into the U.S. even after they have previously been deported.
He said he has written to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson about the problem of repeat offenders, but has not received a satisfactory response.
"We're the greatest country in the universe," Arpaio said. "You're trying to tell me that we can't control the illegal immigration coming into our country?"
