U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the federal probe of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election most likely will finish by the end of this summer, possibly as soon as July, according to Fox News.
Unnamed sources confirmed to Fox News on Monday that based on Durham’s progress, he should be finished investigating sometime this summer, possibly July according to one source, but another source said that the coronavirus pandemic could delay Durham and keep him from finishing his probe until closer to September.
Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, said last week at a meeting of the House Rules Committee that Durham’s “investigation is due to be completed sometime this summer,” according to the Washington Examiner.
The congressman, a member of the House Judiciary Committee, said this after Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, asked if “anybody is going to be accountable now” for the use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.
"I gotta believe that individual at some point is going to be held accountable," Jordan said.
Attorney General William Barr appointed Durham last year to conduct a review of the investigation into Russian election interference in the lead up to the 2016 presidential election, which has since grown to include the Russia probe’s activity after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
