Trump: 'Good Chance' North Korea Summit Will Happen

President Donald Trump says he still thinks there is a "good chance" for a planned June 12 summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

In an interview to air Thursday on Fox News' "Fox & Friends," Trump said there are no guarantees, and "we'll see what happens."

"Right now, we're looking at it, we're talking about it, and they're talking to us," he said. "We have certain conditions. We'll see what happens.

"But there's a good chance. I mean, it'd be a great thing for North Korea. If that happens, it would be a great thing for North Korea. Listen, it would be a great thing for the world. So, we'll see what happens."

The Singapore summit would be the first time a sitting U.S. president met with a North Korean premier.

But last week, North Korea threatened to back out if the United States demanded "unilateral nuclear abandonment."

Chung Eui-yong, the national security adviser to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, said on Tuesday that Seoul was "99.9 percent" sure the meeting would move forward, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported.
