Justice Democrats, the progressive group that help elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez D-N.Y. to Congress, will now attempt to unseat Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas.

The group had helped propel Ocasio-Cortez to her primary victory over then-Rep. Joe Crowley in 2018. Now it has endorsed human rights attorney Jessica Cisneros, who will go up against Cuellar in the primary, Politico reported.

“Our congressman claims to be a Democrat, but he’s voted with Trump nearly 70 percent of the time,” Cisneros said in her launch video “He’s Trump’s favorite Democrat.”

Meanwhile, Ocasio-Cortez has not announced whether she will back Cisneros, according to Politico.

“I really don’t know much about her,” she said.

The Daily Beast noted Cuellar represents a district where 38.5% of the electorate voted for Donald Trump for president. And it said the district has long been targeted by Justice Democrats.
