Kellyanne Conway: Dems Must 'Quit Denying' Border Crisis

Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway called on Democrats to quit "denying what you see in front of you" when it comes to the growing crisis at the nation's border.

"Over 100,000 migrants presented at the border last month alone," Conway told Fox News' "Fox and Friends." "That is a 35% jump in February from the month before."

The flow of immigrants is different now because when in the past, most were single males coming from Mexico, there were "8,000 or so unaccompanied minors last month" alone, said Conway.

"Anybody who can look at me with a straight face and tell me they know what happens to those young children once they're released into the United States is lying," said Conway. "It is wishful thinking that they're, oh, they're united with family members and sponsors and they're gainfully employed and life is wonderful, roses and lollipops after that. You don't know where they are."

Conway said loopholes that have resulted in children being brought into the United States must be fixed.

Conway also criticized Democrats' campaigning on "Medicare for all," with Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., to present his case for universal healthcare in the Senate Wednesday.

"This shows a few things," she said. "Even the Democrats are not running on Obamacare. As we put together our health care plan here at the White House I can tell you that if people want to keep their Obamacare, they should keep their Obamacare. Let's see how many do if they have a choice of something better."

However, the Medicare plan is the "healthcare version of the Green New Deal," said Conway. "Underlying ideologies and the government is coming to take over one of the most intimate (parts) of your life."
