A defector from a wealthy military family in North Korea is accusing Kim Jong Un of snatching teenage girls to be his sex slaves, forcing members of the elite to watch gruesome executions and feasting on imported delicacies while his countrymen starve.
In a horrifying account given to the U.K.-based Daily Mirror in Seoul, South Korea, the 26-year-old woman, whose late father was a senior officer in Kim's regime, declared "despite our privilege, we were scared."
"I saw terrible things in Pyongyang" – including the public execution of 11 North Korean musicians accused of making a pornographic video, she told the Mirror.
"The musicians were brought out, tied up, hooded, and apparently gagged, so they could not make a noise, not beg for mercy or even scream," she told the Mirror, adding: "They were lashed to the end of anti-aircraft guns. There were around 10,000 people ordered to watch that day, and I was standing 200 feet from these victims."
"The musicians just disappeared each time the guns were fired into them," she said. "Their bodies were blown to bits, totally destroyed, blood and bits flying everywhere. And then after that military tanks moved in and they ran over the bits on the ground where the remains lay."
Defectors have provided significant information about Kim's regime and helped shed light on the human rights atrocities occurring in the North, but their numbers have decreased — 12.7 percent between January and August, according to Yahoo News.
"Officials came to our schools and picked out teenage girls to work at one of his 'hundreds' of homes around Pyongyang," the young woman told the Mirror. "They take the prettiest and ensure they have straight, good legs. They learn to serve him food like caviar and extremely rare delicacies. They are also taught how to massage him, and they become sex slaves."
"Yes, they have to sleep with him, and they cannot make a mistake or object because they could very easily simply disappear," she added, saying "maybe the same" can happen if any of the teens get pregnant.
