The House Freedom Caucus has re-elected Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., as its chairman.
The Washington Examiner noted his re-election ensures that one of the top allies of President Donald Trump leads the conservative group.
“I will remain as chairman until December to allow for a smoother transition," Meadows said.
He was one of the major supporters of Trump’s push for more than $5 billion in order wall funding, the Examiner said.
And The Hill reported the freedom caucus was formed in 2015 and now has more than 30 members.
