Report: Ex-Trump Lawyer Cohen Interviewed for 50-Plus Hours in Ongoing Probes

President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer Michael Cohen has assisted and provided information to several ongoing federal investigations in meetings that’ve totaled more than 50 hours, Vanity Fair reported.

The conversations underscore Cohen’s declaration last July that ”my wife, my daughter, and my son, and this country have my first loyalty,” the outlet noted.

“What you see now is a return to who he was before all of this,” one unnamed source told VF. “He’s an open book, and he’s adamant to make it right.”

VF reported Cohen’s specific disclosures are unknown but that his proximity to Trump and his family make him a valuable witness. The Southern District of New York, Mueller and Cohen all declined to comment.

According to the outlet, Cohen has said to friends that he’s got regrets about his work on behalf of Trump in his capacity as a Trump Organization employee. But over the weekend, he showed his more civic side, tweeting: “The #Midterm Elections2018 might be the most important vote in our lifetime.”

The message came days after Cohen’s attorney, Lanny Davis, confirmed Cohen had re-registered as a Democrat in advance of the Nov. 6 vote.

Cohen was a registered Democrat until 2017— despite the fact that he was already serving as the Republican National Committee’s deputy finance chair, and only after Steve Wynn, then the RNC’s finance chairman, insisted that he switch, according to VF.
