Secretary of State Mike Pompeo brought North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un a gift from President Donald Trump – a CD with Elton John's song, "Rocket Man," according South Korea's Chosun Ilbo newspaper.

Trump had referred to Kim as "little rocket man" as tensions mounted between the two nations late last year.

His comments had come after North Korea reportedly launched an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile capable of reaching the east coast of the United States.

Kim had asked Trump about the "Rocket Man" reference when the two met in Singapore for the recent summit, according to the newspaper. Kim reportedly said he was unaware of the song, the newspaper said.

Trump is said to have written a message on the CD for Kim. Pompeo, who is on a two-day visit to North Korea, is also presenting a letter from Trump, the newspaper said.

Pompeo landed in North Korea on Friday and laughed when asked whether he would give Kim the CD, NBC News reported.

The network news said Pompeo's response did not appear to confirm or deny the newspaper's report.
