President Donald Trump issued a cryptic warning at a dinner with military leaders Thursday night, telling reporters it was "the calm before the storm."

As Trump and first lady Melania Trump gathered for a photo with the leaders and their spouses, Trump pointed around the room and asked reporters, "you guys know what this represents?"

"Tell us," one reporter said.

"Maybe it's the calm before the storm," he said. "It could be the calm . . . before . . . the storm."

"We have the world's great military people in this room, I'll tell you that," he added.

Asked what the storm would be — "Is it Iran, ISIS, what's the storm?" one reporter yelled out.

"You'll find out," he replied.

Trump's comments come after reports he plans to "decertify" the Iran nuclear deal next week announce it is not in the United States' national interest.

"You'll be hearing about Iran very shortly," Trump said when asked by reporters.
