Forty-six percent of voters say President Donald Trump's use of Twitter hurts his efforts to be re-elected in 2020, a new Politico/Morning Consult poll reveals.

Just 22% say it helps his chances for re-election. The remainder either did not think it would have an impact either way or had no opinion.

Here is how the rest of the poll breaks down:

  • 70% say Trump uses Twitter too much, while 14% say he uses it the right amount.
  • 1% say he does not use it enough.
  • 60% say his Twitter use is a bad thing, while 19% say it is a good thing.
  • 55% say Trump's Twitter use hurts his presidency, compared to 18% who say it helps.
  • 42% approve of the job Trump is doing as president, compared to 54% who disapprove.
  • 37% would either probably or definitely vote to re-elect Trump.
  • 54% would probably or definitely vote for someone else.
  • 44% would vote for the Democratic candidate if congressional elections were held today, while 37% would vote for the Republican candidate.

The poll, conducted April 28-29, surveyed 1,995 registered voters. The margin of error is 2 percentage points.
