An awkward moment was caught between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Wednesday, addressing speculation about the mayor's 2020 presidential plans, according to the N.Y. Post's Page Six.
"I always say when somebody is serious about running, I'll be serious about commenting on it," Pelosi said in "a searing response" with de Blasio standing in earshot, according to the report.
De Blasio played down the slap, per Page Six.
"Well handled," he reportedly responded.
De Blasio has yet to rule out a 2020 presidential campaign and he and the speaker were promoting a House bill on immigrant protections, per the report.
