House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is reportedly leaning toward a boycott of the GOP-dominated special committee investigating the 2012 Benghazi attack.
Politico, citing unnamed sources, reported Wednesday night the California Democrat also is considering appointing fewer members to the 12-member panel than the five she's alloted – just to show Democratic disdain for the committee but their determination to monitor if "tricks happen."
Pelosi worked out the differing strategies during a conference call with Democrats Wednesday morning, on the eve of the expected passage of a bill empaneling the Benghazi select committee.
Republicans have seven slots on the panel chaired by South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy.

Sources told Politico it's unlikely Pelosi, who's indicated she's "suspicious" of
Republican control of the panel, will fill all five Democratic slots.
In a House Democratic Caucus meeting Wednesday morning, Pelosi told colleagues she was leaning toward a full boycott, Politico reported – and had the support of South Carolina Democratic Rep. Jim Clyburn, the assistant Democratic leader, and New York Democratic Rep. Steve Israel, who chairs the party’s campaign arm.
She hadn't made a final decision, and probably won't until after Thursday's vote, Politico reported.
But in the caucus meeting, Politico reported, Pelosi ally, California Democratic Rep. Henry Waxman, pressed for Democratic participation the committee.
