An open letter from a Marine Corps veteran who served in Iraq in 2006 warns ISIS that U.S. military power will crush the terrorist organization if it attempts to bring the battle to American soil.
The letter has gone viral since it was first published on the
"Warfighter" blog over the weekend. It is signed by Nick Powers.
In the letter, Powers mocks the Islamic State for its threats to raise the flag of Allah over the
White House.

What "did Saddam's troops do when we came rolling into town?,' Powers asked. "They surrendered. Twice."
Powers notes that there are "literally millions of disgruntled, dysfunctional, pissed off veterans who have been dealing with years of abuse from their government stabbing them in the back and having to watch their friends die because you Islamic extremist idiots can't seem to act like normal human beings and stop terrorism and the violence."
He said American forces "plowed through Fallujah in four days," and it "took us about (sic) month to control your entire country."
Powers said the Geneva Conventions won't apply to the terrorists if they attack the U.S. homeland.
"You attack us, and there will be no mercy," he writes. "We will bring the righteous hand of God down upon you and crush you."
Appearing on Fox News Channel's
"The Kelly File" on Monday, Powers said he wrote the letter because many Americans feel disempowered in the face of the group's threats.
Since ISIS uses social media to get their word out and attempt to cause fear, he decided to fight them on their own battlefield.
ISIS isn't as powerful as they appear, the vet said, because they are bullying the weak, taking over areas where people aren't trained to fight back. In United States, there are upward of 21.2 million veterans who are trained to fight and willing to step up, he said.
Rules of engagement have tied the military's hands, Powers said, but ISIS doesn't play by the rules.
"It's disgusting to me that there's people on this planet who think that executing people by cutting their heads off is a way of spreading their message," he said.
