North Korea's news agency said Friday that the United States would "suffer a shameful defeat and final doom if it persists in extreme military adventure, sanctions and pressure."

The statement, quoting the minister of the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, was released to CNN before President Donald Trump's latest warning to Pyongyang Thursday.

The state-owned news agency KCNA said that North Korean military officials had "vowed to stamp out the provocateurs."

Trump told reporters in Bedminster, N.J., that dictator Kim Jong Un "has disrespected our country greatly" in his latest threat to strike Guam.

"He has said things that are horrific," the president said. "And with me, he's not getting away with it.

"He got away with it for a long time between him and his family. ... This is a whole new ball game."

North Korea's army will complete the plans in mid-August to fire four intermediate-range missiles over Japan to land near Guam, when they will be ready for Kim's order.

The U.S. Pacific territory is 2,131 miles southeast of North Korea.

Pyongyang's plans call for the missiles to land in the sea within 25 miles from Guam.
