Seventy-six percent of New York City voters say Mayor Bill de Blasio should not run for president, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.
Only 18% say he should make a bid for the White House.
Here are the highlights from the poll of New York City voters released Wednesday:
- 42% approve of the job de Blasio is doing as mayor, compared to 44% who disapprove.
- 47% say it would be bad for New York City if de Blasio ran for president, compared to 32% who say it would be good.
- 51% approve of the way Andrew Cuomo is handling his job as governor, while 42% disapprove.
- 51% approve of the way Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is handling her job, compared to 34% who disapprove.
- 26% approve of the way President Donald Trump is handling his job, while 71% disapprove.
The poll, conducted March 27-April 1, surveyed 1,077 New York City voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.8 percentage points.
