Fresh out of prison, George Papadopoulos is planning to run for Congress.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Papadopoulos said he expects to make a bid to represent a district in southern California.

“I’m planning on running for Congress in 2020,” Papadopoulos revealed. “Now that Los Angeles is home I just have to find a little Republican enclave somewhere in this part of the country and run there.”

He said donors have already contacted him.

“We all make mistakes,” Papadopoulos said, referencing his time in prison. “It’s not the end of the world to forget when you met somebody a year ago. It shouldn’t preclude my future in politics in this country."

Papadopoulos was released from federal prison last week, The Washington Times noted. He had been sentenced to 14 days in prison for lying to federal investigators with special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.
