Patti Davis said her father, Ronald Reagan, would be heartbroken at the divisiveness in the nation today.
“He would be horrified at the language, at the behavior of not only of a candidate running for president but someone who assumed the office of the presidency, talking and behaving the way this president does,” she said.
Davis made her comments during a Wednesday interview on NBC’s “Today” show.
She added: “He would be horrified at the divisiveness that consumes us now, the meanness, but more importantly I think he would be heartbroken. I know he would be heartbroken. Because he loved this country, he legitimately teared up when he looked at the flag and heard the national anthem.”
Asked if she would consider entering politics, Davis shot back: “Are you insane?”
