Poll: Americans Don't Want Patriots to Win Super Bowl

America wants the New England Patriots to lose the Super Bowl, a new poll reveals.

Here are the highlights from a survey conducted by Public Policy Polling:

  • 53 percent of football fans polled want the Atlanta Falcons to win, compared to 27 percent who are rooting for the Patriots.
  • 55 percent have a very positive overall image of the Falcons, while 19 percent view them unfavorably.
  • 43 percent have a very positive overall image of the Patriots, while 42 percent view them unfavorably.
  • 21 percent of fans say the Patriots are their least favorite team, while the Dallas Cowboys came in second with 19 percent.
  • 52 percent of fans believe the Patriots will win on Sunday, compared to only 36 percent who say the Falcons will.
  • 45 percent of fans say Lady Gaga is a good choice for the halftime show, compared to 37 percent who say she is a bad one.
     

"Americans are divided about a lot of thing these days, but there's one thing our new national poll finds they came come together on — wanting the Patriots to lose the Super Bowl," Public Policy Poll said in its report.

The poll of 378 NFL fans was conducted Jan. 23-24 and has a margin of error of 5 percent.
