Most Americans don't think Christians and Jews face much discrimination in the United States, according to a new poll by the
Public Religion Research Institute.
The poll asked people whether they thought the following groups face "a lot of discrimination" in American society. According to the poll, only 30 percent thought evangelical Christians and Jews face discrimination.
Broken down by affiliation, here is what percentages from various groups said evangelicals face "a lot of discrimination":
- Tea Party: 45 percent
- Republican: 40 percent
- Democrat: 24 percent
Those saying Jews face "a lot of discrimination":
- Tea Party: 35 percent
- Democrat: 33 percent
- Republican: 27 percent
The margin of error is plus-or-minus 2.6 percentage points.
