Of potential Republican primary voters, 59% say they favor former President Donald Trump, compared to 16% who say they back his closest rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, according to a new Morning Consult poll.
Here is how the poll results break down:
- 8% say they favor entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
- 6% say they back former Vice President Mike Pence.
- 4% say they support Nikki Haley, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations.
- 2% say they favor Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina.
- 2% say they back former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
- No other candidate exceeded 1%.
The poll, conducted July 21-23, surveyed 3,576 potential Republican primary voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
