President Donald Trump on Saturday discussed the charges filed by FBI special counselor Robert Mueller against Russian nationals, referencing a New York Post piece that had the headline, "Charges Deal Don a Big Win."

New York Post writer Michael Goodwin "succinctly states 'the Russians had no impact on the election results,'" Trump tweeted.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said that the Mueller charges did not allege that Russian interference changed the outcome of the 2016 election, Trump mentioned in a tweet.

The president also slammed the "Fake News Media" over the charges from Mueller.

"Funny how the Fake News Media doesn't want to say that the Russian group was formed in 2014, long before my run for president. Maybe they knew I was going to run even though I didn't know," Trump tweeted.

Trump also retweeted Rob Goldman, the vice-president of ads at Facebook. "The majority of the Russian ad spend happened after the election," Goldman said in the tweet.

"Hard to ignore this fact," Trump commented in his retweet.

In Goodwin's New York Post piece, the writer slammed Trump's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton. "She lost the old-fashioned way — by being a terrible candidate," Goodwin wrote in The Post.
