The nation's five surviving former presidents will attend an Oct. 21 benefit concert for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation said Wednesday.

The concert — "Deep From the Heart: The One America Appeal" — will be held at Texas A&M University and will be attended by former Presidents Bush 41, along with Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Jimmy Carter.

Country music star Lee Greenwood will host the event — and other performers include Lyle Lovett, Cassadee Pope, Robert Earl Keen, the Gatlin Brothers, and others.

In a statement reported by The Hill, Bush 41 said the former presidents were with hurricane victims "for the long haul."

"The 43rd president and I, and our distinguished colleagues in this 'One America Appeal,' are very grateful to these wonderful performers — some of them old friends, some of them new — for giving their time and talent to help the urgent cause of hurricane recovery in Texas, Florida, and the Caribbean," the former president said.

"It's important that those affected by these devastating storms know that, even if the path to recovery feels like a road that goes on forever, we're with them for the long haul."

The former presidents established the "One America Appeal" last month after Hurricane Harvey, which slammed Texas in August.
