Sen. Rand Paul said he's "starting to get better" after "a rough couple of weeks" in a Thanksgiving video message with his wife, Kelley.
"Hey everybody, thanks for your concern, your prayers, thoughts and get-well cards. It's been a rough couple weeks, but I'm starting to get better. I've been in D.C. for a week; we're trying to make the tax cut a tax cut for everyone. We're working really hard on that," Paul says in the video.
"We're looking forward to time with family and Thanksgiving," the Kentucky Republican said.
Paul returned to Capitol Hill after a brutal attack at his Kentucky home that left him with six cracked ribs and a lung contusion.
Paul's neighbor, Rene Boucher, pleaded not guilty to 4th degree misdemeanor assault.
