Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., complained Thursday of being "tired" from an impeachment process that has "gone on forever" without anything new being presented.
"We just get to hear Adam Schiff lie and rant and stuff like that, ask for more witnesses, when it's actually his job and he decided not to do it," Scott told Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
And when asked if his argument about there being nothing new means former National Security Adviser John Bolton should testify before the Senate, Scott said that would mean the proceedings would "never end."
"The Democrats in the House had a chance to subpoena John Bolton," Scott said. "They are the ones who have decided to rush this case through, and then they said, 'we want you to go through the process of calling John Bolton.' They could have done it, and they didn't do it. I think we've all heard enough."
Scott said he believes both Republicans and Democrats are tired of the ongoing trial, like he is, and he knows constituents want lawmakers to get back to work.
"They want border security, they want the military budget, they want a balanced budget," Scott said. "They want stuff like that. They don't want to get rid of a president nine months before an election."
Scott is also "sick and tired" of what Democrats are saying about former Vice President Joe Biden, he added.
"They are saying that Joe Biden, it's OK for him to get a prosecutor fired, hold up federal money, and this prosecutor was investigating the company where Hunter Biden was getting paid," Scott said. "That's OK, but there has to be something sinister there."
