House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers said Sunday the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has crossed the line with regard to chemical weapons.

“There is mounting evidence that it is probable that the Assad regime has used at least a small quantity of chemical weapons during the course of this conflict,” Rogers said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “I think it is abundantly clear that that red line has been crossed.”

Rogers said “now is the time” for the United States to act.

“If we’re going to have any hope for any diplomatic solution and stop the wholesale slaughter . . . in Syria . . . this needs to be a game-changer,” he said. “Indecision in this case is dangerous to the United States . . .”
