Rosario Marin, U.S. treasurer for former President George W. Bush, said that the Republican Party has left her no choice: She will support Hillary Clinton for president.

"I have disagreed with and criticized Hillary Clinton's positions, but I have come to the conclusion that she would be a far better president than the Republican candidate could ever be," Marin said in a statement, according to The Hill

Marin said she values Clinton's ability to deal with "delicate world situations."

"She understands that words spoken from the White House have consequences, that sarcasm is not a strategy when dealing with delicate world situations, that our friends and foes listen to every word spoken by our president and react accordingly."

She also blasted Republican nominee Donald Trump in her statement.

"There is too much at stake both domestically and abroad to have a thoughtless individual at the helm of the most important economy in the world. My party and its standard-bearer leave me no choice; on November 8, I will vote for Hillary Clinton."

Marin, who is is on the list of Newsmax's 50 Most Influential Latino Republicans, said that Trump's comments about Hispanics and about immigration led to her decision.

"I have come to the devastatingly painful realization that my party right now doesn't want my vote nor that of my community. Evidently it is not important, or not as important as some other voting bloc. So, for me to consider the unthinkable — to vote for a Democrat — has been a profound soul-searching process."

Marin said she would support the Hispanic community against "the menace of a tyrannical presidency that does not value the countless contributions of immigrants across its beautiful and bountiful history."

Other Republicans have banded together to sign a letter telling the Republican National Committee to cut off Trump's funding. More than 120 current and elected officials have signed the letter, according to CBS News

Marin has been on the record before about her opinion of Trump. In May, she appeared on CNN and said, "This guy has done everything to un-earn my vote."

She added, "I will not vote for him. I certainly cannot ask anybody to vote for this little orange man."
