President Donald Trump's eldest son slammed former Alabama Senate candidate and chief justice Roy Moore amid news he is mulling a challenge to Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., in 2020.

Donald Trump Jr. tweeted Tuesday:

"You're literally the only candidate who could lose a GOP seat in pro-Trump, pro-USA ALABAMA. Running for office should never become a business model.

If you actually care about #MAGA more than your own ego, it's time to ride off into the sunset, Judge."

The Twitter burn came the same day one of Moore's potential rivals for the seat, Rep. Bradley Byrne, R-Ala., told The Hill that Moore might announce his candidacy in June.

Republican officials in Washington are dead set against Moore's run after his loss to Jones in 2017 as allegations surfaced of sexual misconduct involving underage girls, The Hill has reported. Moore has denied all the allegations.

Trump Jr. previously urged West Virginia Republicans to vote against former coal executive Don Blankenship in the 2018 primary, tweeting "no more fumbles like Alabama." Incumbent Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., beat the eventual GOP candidate, West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.
