Marco Rubio said Saturday that he still would support the eventual Republican presidential nominee, but that it’s "getting harder every day."
"I still at this moment continue to support the Republican nominee, but getting harder every day," a clearly exasperated Rubio told reporters while campaigning in Largo, Fla., CNN reports.
Rubio's comments come just days before the crucial Florida primary on Tuesday and after Friday's violent protests at a Donald Trump rally in Chicago forced the front-runner the cancel the event and call in scores of police officers to break up skirmishes between protesters and supporters.
"I believe Donald Trump as our nominee is going to shatter and fracture the Republican Party and the conservative movement," the Sunshine State senator said. "I think it's already having that function."
